C2C Chennai 2 Kolkata Day -1 (Page - 3)
We started on 21.12.2016 at 6 AM from Chennai.
We had completed loading the Car with all the stuff we had packed up.
This was done between 2.15 to 3.15 AM early morning as we only got the car from the workshop by 2 AM after all the works.
Well we have to accept the reality.
The program was finally on and I wanted to leave immediately but my wife insisted on me to take 2 hours of rest and insisted me to sleep so that I will be a little fresh to drive.
This was our planned program below;
I took rest up to 5 AM until the alarm went off.
This is where we were heading to in the North East of India from Chennai South India;
We got ready by 5.45 AM and offered our prayers to all the GODs and prayed for a very safe journey. It is a long distance and to very far away places and the road conditions in NE are a great challenge.
Few pending works were carried out on the car en-route
1. Wheel Alignment
2. Music System both were done at Ongole in Andhra Pradesh
3. AC Gas Filling & fixing AC issue was done at Vijaywada in Andhra Pradesh.
Due to this I lost 3 hours at Ongole and close to 5 hours at Vijaywada due to AC issues faced in pressure switch & traffic Jam.
Here are the photos taken on 21st December 2016. Day - 1 of our journey.
Planned trip was to be Chennai to Bhuwaneshwar, but as we were already running behind schedule I decided to drive without any halt all the way and we did Chennai to Kolkata all the way NON STOP.

We drove through the night crossing Andhra Pradesh which is a very big state.
We lost about 1 hour in Vijaywada between 8 to 9 PM due to traffic Jam right in the heart of city.
We managed to find a mechanic Ghouse Bhai whom we contacted at 10 PM night and he was kind enough to come and help us in filling AC Gas & fixing a problem we had with the AC Pressure switch. He struggled hard and worked hard without giving up and took 4 hours from 10 PM to 2 AM to fix the problem.
Finally we had the AC functioning. Sincere thanks Ghouse Bhai for your kind heart and never giving up attitude. Salam Bhai. We pray to you and your Family. You are awesome and helped us in fixing the AC in our car.

We also lost 4 hours from 10 PM night of 21st Dec till 2 AM early morning of 22nd Dec at Ghouse Bhai's workshop in getting the AC issue fixed.
Totally we lost over 7 - 8 hours on 21st December 2016. It was unavoidable.
We started from Vijaywada at 2 AM on 22nd Dec early morning after the AC issue was resolved.
We had a very long way to go on. Kolkata was 1154 KMs away. Time was 5.15 AM in this picture below.
We encountered very thick and heavy fog in the late night and early morning hours and drove through it. Videos taken by me will really show you the thickness of the fog.

We met Shri.Sathosh Kumar Bhanja who belonged to a near by village Nadika at the petrol pump, he had come to refuel his 2 wheeler. We inquired with him about 2 famous Lord ShivaTemples near by.
Only in villages you will know the true meaning of "Athithi Devo Bhava", "Guest is God" a true Indian culture to treat the guest royally.
Shri.Santhosh Kumar Bhanja invited us to his village and told us that even in his village there is a beautiful temple of Lord Shiva and we must come & visit.
We went along with him to his village and went to his home. He has a marble business.
23rd December 2016. Time: 10 AM.
His wife Smt.Snehalata Bhanja made us feel at home and offered us tea & refreshments. She is also a very good artist and we saw a lot of her hand made art works on the wall of their home.
We moved on from the fuel station and went to visit 2 very famous temples for which we had to leave the highway and drive into the village roads 40 KMs away. Roads wer very bad. But the effort was really worth visiting Lord Shiva Temples which we would otherwise never get any opportunity.
We visited Chandaneswar & Bhusandeswar Lord Shiva Temples in Orissa and then after this we headed to DIGHA Beach and this is in West Bengal, bordering to Orissa.
Baba Bhusandeswar Temple, is one of the largest Shiva Lingams in the World is in Bhogarai village of Balasore district, Odisha. The 12 feet long and 14 feet width lingam is carved out on a black granite and only half of the lingam is visible.
The other half has remained buried for years. The diameter of the lingam is 12 feet and has three parts.
The middle portion of the lingam is octagonal in shape, about 12 feet in diameter and nearly four feet in height. The Lingam slightly leans towards the right side.
After the temple visit we started back to our journey to reach the highway and to visit Digha Beach. On the way we saw this interesting combination of man carrying his goat inside a bag and with the goat sticking out its head and trying to get out!
Shrimeenakshi got a teddy bear and has given it a protective scarf and a big hug!!
We are now entering the state of West Bengal.
We are now at Digha Beach.
After the Beach visit at Digha, we started to go towards Kolkata at 7 PM. We still had to cover 150 KMs.
I called up my good friend Shanthanu Banerjee at Kolkata and informed him.
We are passing through Pashim Mednipur.
Kolkata City of Joy Welcomes us. Time was 1.35 AM early morning on 24th December 2016 & it was quite chill & cold.

My kids really enjoyed the visit to the village, for the first time they saw real village life, how the villagers grew the paddy, separated the husk and how they had so many cattle and walked into the village happily.
They even merrily hopped, jumped on the paddy which was laid across the road and the farme happily invited them to jump, hop and these 3 were doing it with great enthusiasm with so much laughter.
This man works at the Gayathri Fueling Station and he offered to help us in cleaning up the car & what a service. We thanked him and promised to meet him on our way back and we surely did it. He was so happy.
